Luciano Colucci

Luciano Colucci is an artist of Italian origin based in Spain. His personality due to the fusion between both cultures is proactive and cheerful. A versatile artist, he uses experimentation to get out of the comfort zone and always create unique works. His academic training was entirely devoted to the artistic world. It oscillates between different pictorial techniques, although the watercolor technique is the one that most helps his continuous experimentation. A technique to which he feels special attachment because learning began as a challenge, maintaining the illusion of being able to control water. Until he understands that the unpredictability of this primordial element is the basic factor of the technique. He loves to define it as the “…technique of silence…” for the lightness with which the brush slides on the paper. Born as a figurative artist, landscapes speak of themselves, of their experiences as if they were part of a travel diary. His continuous research has led him to make remarkable abstract and conceptual creations. Artist in continuous evolution, always ready to launch new projects.

Experience

Class 1977. I’m Italian.

Pugliese from birth,

Sicilian for love,

Spanish for adoption.

He trained initially in Graphic Arts at the Art Institute of Grottaglie (TA), a town in Puglia famous for its traditional ceramics. He continued his education in the artistic field first in Lecce and then in Rome, where he graduated first in Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts and then in Interior Design and Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture Valle Giulia University La Sapienza.

During his academic studies he participates in exhibitions and competitions of ideas. Over the years he has drawn and painted, trying different techniques but always preferring one: watercolor, a technique in which he specializes. is very grateful to the watercolor because since 2014 it has given him the opportunity to exhibit internationally, between Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia
